Club: Not for Profit Group Lunch

12 Apr 2019
12:00 PM - 02:00 PM

You are invited to join us for our Not for Profit Group Leaders Lunch to be held on Friday 12 April with special guest speaker Joseph Tooma current Chief Executive of Australian Cervical Cancer Foundation.

In 2008, Joe was asked by Mike Wille and Ian Frazer to join the newly create Australian Cervical Cancer Foundation (ACCF). Ian’s vision was that cervical cancer should be entirely preventable and ACCF has worked tirelessly since 2008 to make Ian’s vision a reality.  Ian’s vision is contagious and Joe has “caught” his passion about women’s health and making health care available to women wherever they may live, be it in UK, Australia, South Pacific and developing countries.

Since  2008, this vision has enabled over 160,000 girls to be vaccinated in Nepal, Bhutan, Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea, Kiribati and over 95,000 women to be screened for cervical cancer in Nepal, Philippines, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Vietnam.  Together with the ACCF board and Joe’s leadership, Ian’s vision continues to blossom in a practical way on the ground with projects such as ACCF’s Cervical Cancer Program for Schools (CCAPS) reaching 100,000 school students throughout Australia The seemingly impossible is now  reality - by 2035 cervical cancer and other cancers caused by HPV in women and men will be effectively eliminated.

This is an excellent opportunity to hear from an engaging and passionate advocate for women and key influencer for cervical cancer prevention awareness.

Not only will attendees have the opportunity to network upon arrival but will also be invited to participate in a Perfect Match at the end of the event for Members with an interest in joining a board of a NFP.

Members and guests welcome.
